Hi Team,

I’m writing from beautiful Banff, Alberta.  I’m here doing a creative residency at The Banff Centre.  This place is a hotbed of inspiration.  I’m surrounded by amazing talent in great facilities nestled in among the Rocky Mountains.  Pretty good, pretty pretty good.

I’ve got a little hut in the woods with an upright piano and a desk and I’m working on a project.  I’ll be able to write more about it later, but what I can say is that it’s a sweeping Canadian story that I hope to share with the world.

But for now, I’m toiling away in my hut and counting down the days until the band and I take the stage in Vancouver at The Oympics.  February 18th and 19th at Atlantic Canada House on Granville Island in Vancouver for those of you in that neck of the woods.

Or if you’re in the Banff area, I’ll be performing at The Banff Centre periodically so keep you ear to the ground for that.

Aside from all that, I want to send my love to the people of Haiti.  I understand that there is a benefit being organized in Charlottetown and I’m not the least bit suprised.  The PEI music scene is exploding and it seems everyone jumps at the chance to perform for a good cause.  I’m going to try and get something rolling here in Banff over the next few days as well.

And with that, I’m off to my little hut.  Happy New Year to you and yours and thanks for checking in.

John
