Hi Team!
“Anne” is up and running. It’s been a great experience to be part of a show like this. If you’re in town, come down and see the show. It’s turned out to be a special production.
The album release is set for September 25th in Charlottetown. It’s being pressed this week and there should be some copies floating around over the next few weeks.
I’ve posted a few songs from the new ep on myspace
And finally, the first show with the band in a long time is coming up on Wednesday, August 18th at Fishbones.
Best,
John

The show with Joel Plaskett was a memorable one.
It rained HARD during soundcheck, but the sky soon cleared and everything dried up really nice in time for the concert. The 45 minutes of our set just breezed by. The crowd was lovely and we had a hoot.
Then we settled in to watch on Joel and The Emergency. As usual, they put on a great show – rocking for two and a half hours.
We had a little celebration afterwards and it turned into an all night jam with family and friends.
T’is the season for those kinds of nights. It’s pretty amazing to see summer arrive here on The Island.
To that end, I’m invloved with The Charlottetown Festival production of Anne Of Green Gables for the next month and a half. I’m really looking forward to it. I know this may sound strange, but by doing this I’m living the dream of my 14 year old self. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on that and all the good things happening right now.
We’re in the throes of booking a fall tour out west AND I just bought a 2002 toyota corolla to get me there and back. Great little rig. It was bittersweet as I had to finally say goodbye to my beloved 1989 Honda Accord, Virgil. Virgil promplty sold to the first person who came to look at it for $840. This fella then turned around and sold it for $1600. Nice, John. Very nice.
All the best,
John

Heya,
Lots of good stuff going on these days.
The album just got mastered in Nashville and it’s sounding swell. The design is getting firmed up and it’s looking like a late summer release. It’s a 6 song ep entitled “The Wind”.
The Festival Of Small Halls is coming up on PEI. This is a series of intimate shows spread across The Island. But there’s one show in particular that I’m looking forward to: A Songwriters Circle with Rose Cousins, Catherine MacLellan, Nick Gauthier and myself at Harmony House Theatre on Sunday, June 13th. You can check out the complete schedule here.
Another very innarestin’ gig is coming up on Saturday, June 26th: Opening for Joel Plaskett at Credit Union Place in Summerside. This promises to be a wee bit of a gong show and we’re really looking forward to it. You can pick up tickets here
Good day and good farming,
John

I’m back on PEI after recording last week in Nashville with Brian Ahern. Brian’s been in the studio since the late 60’s and it and it was really something special to work with him. Together with his long-time engineer, the great Donivan Cowart, we had a real good time making this record.
It’s a pretty natural recording…acoustic and laid back and I’m really looking forward to putting it out there.
In the meantime, I’m having a time on good ol’ PEI and loving it. Stay gold!
