John Connolly is a Canadian singer, songwriter, musical director and record producer. Currently, he’s developing a folk musical based on the life of Terry Fox entitled Marathon of Hope. He has also released several of his own works, produced albums for other artists, composed music for film and served as musical director in theatre, radio and tv.
He was Co-Creator, Musical Director and starred in the hit show Come All Ye for The Charlottetown Festival during his five years at the festival. More recently, he’s been performing at Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto as part of their ongoing cabaret series.
As a singer/songwriter, John is the recipient of five PEI Music Awards and two ECMA Nominations. His latest album, The Wind, was recorded in Nashville with Producer Brian Ahern, who is noted for his classic albums with Emmylou Harris, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash. It is available on itunes along with his other recordings.
John has toured from coast to coast and shared the stage with the likes of Joel Plaskett, Cuff The Duke, Gordie Sampson, Jimmy Rankin and was honoured to perform at the 2010 Olympics.
